RAIN
The MPLL Rainout Committee does our best to play all games possible and keep the season on track to avoid make-up scheduling — prioritizing the safety of our players and fields. The next time it rains on a practice game day, please keep this in mind:
- All practices and games are on unless you hear otherwise from your coach.
- If games are cancelled, we will alert coaches with as much advance notice as possible. If we cancel ALL games, we'll share on Facebook and Instagram. If we only cancel some games, we won't share on social to avoid confusion.
- If it rains once a game starts, the umps make the call on whether to continue or cancel.
HEAT
Summer in Nashville is hot! As kids return to school and sports, they are not conditioned to the heat and humidity that late August and September often bring. McCabe Park Little League is committed to keeping our kids and coaches safe above all else.
First and foremost, parents should monitor the weather and always make the decision that is best for their child. Families will never be penalized for missing a practice or game because of heat or weather. We are relying on parents to be the first line of defense so please — if the weather doesn't feel safe for your child, don't send them!
League Policy for all outdoor play:
- When the heat index is at 100 or above, no games or practice should be conducted.
- When the heat index is between 95 and 99 degrees, all outdoor play should be limited to no more than two hours, with water/rest breaks at least every 15 minutes.
- When the heat index is between 90 and 95 degrees, water/rest breaks should be provided at least every 15 minutes.
- Coaches will inform families if practice is going to be canceled due to heat two hours before practice time.
