McCabe, Sylvan Park, and West Nashville

Players

McCabe Park Little League welcomes players of all ages and skill levels to join us as we have fun learning and playing the game of baseball together in our community. We strive to create parity and develop friendships throughout the community.  While we do our best to put friends together and allow formed teams to join together, we believe that parity and the development of the community is best served through the formation of teams in the Minors and Majors divisions. Our players come all live or attend school within the area roughly bordered by Charlotte Avenue, Franklin Road, and Old Hickory Blvd. We have children from all of the schools below and more.

Christ the King, Covenant School, Eakin Elementary, Ensworth, Glendale, Harding Academy, Harris Hillman School, Hillsboro High School, Hillwood High School, JT Moore Middle, Julia Green Elementary, Linden Waldorf, Lipscomb Academy, Montgomery Bell Academy, Oak Hill School, Overbrook, Park Avenue Elementary, Percy Priest Elementary, Rose Park Elementary, Saint Ann, Saint Bernard, Saint Henry, Saint Paul, St Georges Kindergarten, Sylvan Park Paideia, University School of Nashville, Waverly Belmont, West End Middle

Coaches

All MPLL coaches are volunteers. Many have or have had children in the league, but all give greatly of their time and energy to support the development of our young men and women playing ball. They commit hours before and during the season to make each season a success for their team. For that, we ask that you give them your support and patience as they teach your kids the great game of baseball.

did you know?

McCabe was originally the home of McConnell Field

In 1927 the City of Nashville bought 131 acres from Warren Sloan and made this the city airport, named for Lieut. Brower McConnell, Tennessee National Guard pilot who died that year in an air crash.  Aircraft outgrew the field in the 1930s and moved to Sky Harbor and Berry Field.  The Works Progress Administration constructed the McCabe Golf Course, named for former Park Commission Chairman Charles McCabe, in 1939-1940.

In the picture, McCabe's big field would be just off the left edge at the base of one of two runways. In the distance, you can see where Nashville recently installed the roundabout at the home of some of our sponsors.
